Sister's Readers Sharing Their Stories: Battzi's Vegan Update "The Power of Now"

"The Power of NOW!" by Battzi

What do you believe about yourself? We are what we believe. I always believed that I was a bother, a nobody, some insignificant thing wrongly placed on this earth. I still feel like that at times BUT I'm getting better.

Since I've totally immersed myself in living the vegan/vegetarian lifestyle, my thinking has been changing. I have learned that eating life-enhancing foods really does enhance life. Many veggie/vegan folks lose weight really fast. Recently, I began to fret about why I wasn't one of those folks.

I told myself that I was a failure. That I could not do anything right. You know, the self-speak of defeat. Then it hit me: I'm right where I should be in my journey. I don't have to live up to anyone else's standards. I must find my way to live this lifestyle.

I felt renewed after this train of thought. This lifestyle is open to every interpretation there is. It's like a Big Tent that all can gather under and find a spot to settle in. I don't have to do what you do and vice versa. I just have to be me. So while I'm just being myself, loving me, Battzi, is becoming easier. I always believed that if I was skinny, I would be beautiful, popular, worthy of respect, worthy of love.

Guess what I discovered! I am beautiful...NOW. I am popular...NOW. I am worthy of respect...NOW. I am worthy of love...NOW. I believe that I can do anything, limitations duly noted. I believe that a plant-based eating lifestyle is the best way to heal your mind, body, soul. Because I believe that, I follow it, live it. Because I believe that you are out there reading my posts, I keep writing. Because I believe that Sister Vegetarian and other Veggie Mentors have great insight into living a veggie life, I follow their advice/example. I believe all of this. Yes, I do. I live accordingly.

NOW. NOW is the time to love yourself. NOW is the time to put an end to the abuse of your body. NOW is the time to believe that you are worthy of respect, love, happiness BEFORE getting skinny/thin. NOW is the time to shake off the mental, emotional, physical, financial, spiritual chains that bind you to living a below par life.

NOW! What a powerful word! Grab hold of your NOW! :)

Experiencing NOW,
Battzi Ơ̴̴͡.̮Ơ̴̴̴͡
